Horses, Horses, Horses...Black Hills Trail Riders
If you like trail riding, you may want to check out our group. Black Hills Trail Riders was formed in February 1999 to provide a forum for people who love horses and love to ride. We meet..talk horses...exchange ideas and information. There are no dues. No officers. No politics. We're a group created just to have fun. Black Hills Trail Riders gets together the 4th Thursday of each month. The location of the get together varies based on the preference of the monthly trail boss. That trail boss ramrods the get together location and the ride. The group ride usually takes place the Saturday following the get together. Sometimes a rain date is planned.
Black Hills Trail Riders currently has approximately 100 participants. We try to send out a monthly newsletter to keep all the participants informed about group activities and items of interest to horse lovers. Postage for the newsletter is paid for by donations of the group participants.
Some future events include a ride for St. Jude's along the Michelson trail (details to follow). In the past, we've ridden the Michelson Trail, Custer State Park and Hell's Canyon and around Ft. Mead. We've enjoyed area games and a play day. There's even been a pig roast and a bar-b-que. We sponsor an annual Vet Clinic. Dr. Dale Hendrickson has been kind enough to accomodate our needs for the past two years.
If you love horses(or mules or donkeys)and you love good, clean family fun then we're the group for you.
