An HPCNet link is one that belongs to an organization within the HPCNet system, including all of your sites. This procedure will allow you to search for other sites using keywords and/or words contained in the site title.
The following procedure shows you how to insert an HPCNet Link from the "Update Links Page". The procedure assumes that you have already logged into the system, created a site, and are in the update screen for the site that you want to create a link from. For instructions on how to create a site, see the instructions titled "How to Create a Site". For instruction on how to update an existing site, see the instructions titled "How to Update an Existing Site". The following is an example of the update screen.

Step 1: Go to the Update Links section.

Step 2.1: Link Existing Page by Search

Step 2.1.1: Set the dropdown fields.
| Type | Description |
| AND | If you want the word in line one to be located in the correct category
and also the word in line two to be in the correct category, etc. the search will locate only those sites that match all of the lines.
If you are looking for a site, for example, that contains the words western and history, using the and will only return sites that use both words. |
| OR | If you want the word in line one to be located in the correct category
or the word in line two to be in the correct category, etc. the search will locate those sites that match at least one of the lines.
For example, use this type of search if you are looking for a site that contains either one or both of the words: western history. |
| NOT |
If you want the word in line one to be located in the correct category but do not want the word in line two to be in the correct category, this search will locate those sites that exclude the sites that match both the beginning line and the not line. If, for example, you are looking for a site that contains the word western but do not want anything related to the word history, the not would be an appropriate choice. |
Title, Key Words, Title or Keywords, Author and Classifications
| Type | Description |
| Title | Use this field if you know a word in the title of the site that you want to link to. |

| Classifications | This field will search for the classification of the site: e.g. financial. |
Contains and Is Equal.
| Type | Description |
| Contains | Looks for the word as a portion of the type of search field. For example, if the type of search is set to "Title" and the site title was Books and More, searching for the word book would determine a match. |
| Is Equal | Look for an exact match. Using the same example from above, searching for the word "book" would not be a match. |
All sites and My sites.
| Type | Description |
| My Sites | Restricts the search to sites that your HPCNet account has authored. |
| All Sites | Searches all HPCNet sites. |
Step 2.1.2: Submit, Cancel, Reset your search.
