Program Objectives are described in Section 2 of the program review linked below. The metrics used to assess these Objectives are as follows:

  • Curricular improvements

  • Student numbers

  • Grants funded

  • Graduate placement

  • External collaborations

  • Publications and presentations

The Program Review attached below (dated January 2004) describes how these objectives have been met or exceeded.  Please see sections

  • See Appendix III Section M of the 2004 self-study for Publications and presentations

An external program review (dated July 2004) identified the primary issue as

  • Infrastructure support (e.g., start-up funding, electronic library holdings, general departmental infrastructure)

  • Improvement of procedures and faculty support (e.g. IP policies, private sector investment, commercialization, assistance in securing external funding, general faculty encouragement)

Many of the items cited by the reviewer are appropriately addressed at an institutional or VP level.
