Introduction to Grant Writing

This interactive, hands-on workshop will teach grant seekers from every type of non-profit organization the key steps involved in planning a project, seeking grant funding, writing the grant proposal, and managing the grant-funded program. Participants will spend the first half of the workshop on the key steps. The second half of the workshop will include an interactive group session that allows assistance with a current project, grant application or sample grant application. Participants will receive first-hand advice from an expert grant writer and will network with colleagues.*

Stephanie Schweitzer Dixon has worked as a grant writer and a consultant for non-profit organizations for eight years. She has a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND, and is currently working towards becoming a Certified Fund Raising Executive. She authored, "The Grant Writing Manual: A Project Planning, Grant Seeking, Grant Writing, and Program Management Training Manual." She is currently working towards authoring additional manuals on non-profit management and fundraising practices. She also works as the director of a small non-profit organization in Rapid City, SD.

Each participant will receive a copy of Ms. Schweitzer Dixon's workbook, "The Grant Writing Manual: A Project Planning, Grant Seeking, Grant Writing and Program Management Training Manual."
