STEPS Engineering Camp for Boys

Science Technology Engineering Preview Summer Camp (STEPS) for boys, grades 6-8, is a one-week introduction to the world of technology and engineering. Campers participate in hands-on activities that give them an understanding of what engineers do. Students will also explore science and engineering topics such as materials, clean manufacturing, CAD and team building. Boys will make a checkerboard and checkers during camp, and also get to
try blacksmithing.

Of course there is time for fun! The camp also includes a number of activities that may include swimming, pizza parties, a field trip, etc. Participants will experience dorm life, cafeteria food and learn what
it is like to be on a college campus.

This is an overnight residential camp. A room will be provided in a residence hall on the School of Mines campus for the entire week. There will be 2-4 campers per room. Counselors are assigned to the campers in a ratio of one for every 15 boys. The camp will provide all meals.
