Science Technology Engineering Preview Summer Camp
(STEPS) for girls, grades 6-8, is a one-week introduction to
the world of
technology and engineering.
Campers
participate
in hands-on activities that give them an understanding of what
engineers do. Students will also explore science and engineering topics such as materials, clean manufacturing,
CAD and team building.
Of course there is time for fun! The camp also includes a number of
activities that may include swimming, pizza parties,
a field trip, etc. Participants will experience dorm life, cafeteria food and learn what it is
like to be on a college campus.
This is an overnight residential camp. A room will be provided in a
residence hall on the School of Mines campus for the entire week. There will be 2-4 campers per room. Counselors are assigned to the campers in a ratio of one for every 15
girls. The camp will provide all meals.
