Natural Resource Engineering

Students will learn about natural resources (land, water, air) and how engineers and scientists manage these resources. The first day will focus on Internet research, preparing a journal, and sample collection. Days 2-5 will be spent visiting area resources (a stream, a grassland, and a forest) and learn how engineers and scientists are protecting and managing those resources.

Students must: dress appropriately including tennis shoes or hiking boots, bring sun screen and hats, carry their own gear, and bring water and a snack each day. Class will happen regardless of light rain, but not if the weather is severe!

June 23-27, 2008
9-11:30 a.m. each day
