Peru State College hosts three contests that reflect our "Tested for Excellence" theme,
Business Contest, District History Day and the Quiz Bowl.
Faculty and staff in the School of Professional Studies, Business Department are working to complete plans for the 32st Annual High School Business Contest to be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2005. High school students from Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, and Kansas are invited to campus to compete for awards and scholarships, according to Judy Grotrain, Ph.D., Contest Director.
Students and their high school business teachers will arrive on campus for an 8:00 a.m. general assembly meeting and then begin testing in 14 subject areas for top awards. Contests will be in the following business disciplines:

Medals will be awarded to 1st through 5th place winners in each contest.
Dr. Ben Johnson, President of Peru State College, has authorized Peru State College $500 tuition scholarships to be awarded to the first-place winners for each contest.

This year's theme is "Communication in History: The Key to Understanding". The growth in entries, studies, and school participation in the district's History Day is tremendous and exciting. The 2005 Peru State College District Contest will have special awards that will be presented by local historical groups.
The Peru State College Disitrict Contest, once again will have special award that will be presented by local historical groups.
The Peru Historical Foundation is sponsoring a trophy for the best entry that is focusing on any historical event or person of Nebraska; Arbor Lodge is donating a book and a "Friends of Arbor Lodge" membership to the best individual entry that involves Nebraska and/or environment issues; Nebraska City Museum Association is sponsoring an award with individual trophies for the best use of oral history interviews in an individual or group entry.
Peru State College will award scholarships to each winner in the Senior Division. This means all senior division first-place winners will receive a $500 tuition grant to Peru State College.
New this year is the Website Category, an individual entry in the junior and senior division. The entry must be submitted early like a paper, by Feb. 7th
