Peru State College Assessment Team

March 15, 2007 Meeting Minutes

Faculty and Administrators Present: Members present: Dr. Korinne Tande, V.P.A.S.A., Dean Todd Drew, Associate Dean Bruce Batterson, Greg Galardi (secretary), Brad Griffin.

Meeting called to order at 8:04 a.m.

1st topic of discussion was establishing priorities for what the committee wished to focus upon and who would be responsible for the specific assignment(s) in regards to assessment. Discussion followed. It was determined that at the next meeting a process for determining specific responsibilities would be discussed and the means to achieve completion of these assignments for tasks related to the assessment process might be implemented.

2nd topic of discussion regarded non-attendance of committee members at today’s meeting. A couple of the members had indicated that they would not be available at this time due to other commitments; however, with few members in attendance, Dr. Tande advised she would contact everyone regarding the next meeting time and what occurred today.

3rd topic of discussion was Mr. Griffin distributing a special report from U.S. News and World Report that included information on college assessment. Discussion followed.

4th topic of discussion was Dr. Tande advising the necessity of meeting routinely before the next all faculty meeting in April. Discussion followed as to whether to meet at Fridays at 3:00 p.m. or Thursdays at 8:00 a.m. Dr. Tande advised the next assessment committee meeting would be on Thursday, March 29th in Hoyt 114 at 8:00 a.m. and a determination of future meeting times would be made on that date.
