Reading for Week Six

Week Six Creative Writing Reading Assignment

This week, the focus falls again on some Creative Non-Fiction and an introduction to Fiction. And you can begin work on your short story and your final project for the class.

As the class notes indicate, you will over the next three weeks write one short story and, for a final project, another short story or another memoir.

As always, publish your work on the Discussion Thread; however, make sure to attach the appropriate document to the assignment link.

The Creative Writing Guide:

"The Heart of a Story: Character and Conflict," 188- 203

Road Trip:

"Brent Spencer," 61-76.

On-Line Reading:

"Thinking Like a Mountain" by Aldo Leopold, a noted naturalist and a writer of no small merit and beauty.

Continue to share related literature and interesting links you find on the web with your classmates by posting links on the discussion threads. And for the remainder of class readings, check out these Poetry and Literature Blogs of note: talk about them on the appropriate discussion threads.

Continue to experiment, to discover, and to unlock your hidden head.
