British Literature Assignments for Monday, October 25 and Wednesday, October 27.

For Monday, October 24, please read to at least the end of the Volume I in Frankenstein; and by Wednesday, complete if you can Volume II.

We will on Monday watch the rest or as much of the rest as we can of the film version of Great Expectations. And on Wednesday, I will show some of the excellent 1931 version of Frankenstein.

After unfortunate delays, I will get essays back to you by Wednesday. And you want to complete another over the next two weeks. As noted in class, I will give you a chance to take an examination instead of writing an essay, which I will post by Wednesday on Blackboard if anyone expresses an interest in taking the examination.

This examination will ask you to respond in paragraph form to a number of questions relating to both Wuthering Heights and Great Expectations.

We will discuss this option in class.

All of you will write papers eventually over either Frankenstein or War of the Worlds.
