Credit Limitation in Special Topics Categories

The total number of credits
in “Special Topics in – “, “Advanced Topics in – “, or “Seminar in – “applied to
graduate degrees shall be limited to nine credits. There are no restrictions as
to the distribution of these credits in the above categories.

Graduate students and their major professors should complete a program of
study showing no more than nine credits in the above categories. Credits that
exceed nine in these categories generally will not be allowable for graduate
credit and must be placed in the “other” column of the program of study. This
restriction may be waived only on petition to the Council on Graduate Education.
