    Research Expertise:
    RESEARCH INTERESTS: The general research theme in our group is about nano-scaled polymeric, ceramic, metallic, carbonaceous fibers and their applications. The nanofibers (with diameters ranging from several nanometers to microns) are primarily fabricated by a materials processing technique of electrospinning; the applications of the nanofibers include, but not limited to, reinforcement/toughening/functionalization of composites, filtration/separation, textile, biomedical applications (including tissue engineering, antimicrobial wound/haemostatic dressing, bio-chemical detecting, and controlled/targeted drug delivery), electronic applications (including transistors, sensors, and others), as well as energy related applications (particularly catalyst support for fuel cells, solar cells (both dye sensitized solar cells and flexible/polymer solar cells), and hydrogen storage).
